Fireside Book Club has resumed! We will be meeting by Zoom. All are welcome to attend.**Please call or email for Zoom link & to be included in discussion.**For April, we will read Rhys Bowen's "The Tuscan Child." ~ In 1944, British pilot Hugo Langley parachuted from his stricken plane into the fields of German-occupied Tuscany. Badly wounded, he found refuge in a ruined monastery and in the arms of Sofia Bartoli. But the love that kindled between them was shaken by an irreversible betrayal. Thirty years later, Hugo's estranged daughter, Joanna, has returned home to the English countryside to arrange her father's funeral. Among his personal effects is an unopened letter addressed to Sofia. In it is a startling revelation.

With one call to a clinic in Switzerland she takes her life into her own hands. But then ten-year-old Rose arrives in a riot of color on her doorstep. Now, as precocious Rose takes Eudora on adventures she'd never imagined she reflects on the trying times of her past and soon finds herself wondering - is she ready for death when she's only just experienced what it's like to truly live?

We have been reading about each president in order of their service. Participants can access any material on the president they choose: book, qualified website, podcast, documentary. The purpose is to further our knowledge of our history through the lives of the presidents.Join us for our 35th president, John F. Kennedy. Graduating from Harvard in 1940, he entered the Navy. In 1943, when his PT boat was rammed and sunk by a Japanese destroyer, Kennedy, despite grave injuries, led the survivors through perilous waters to safety. On November 22, 1963, when he was hardly past his first thousand days in office, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was killed by an assassin's bullets as his motorcade wound through Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was the youngest man elected President; he was the youngest to die.
